Kaunastic — is one of special projects dedicated for Kaunas
as the European Capital of Culture 2022.
Its aim is to introduce visitors and citizens to popular and
not yet known places of the city.
For this reason a conceptual map on a particular topic was created

This time the theme was Kaunas Hanza days.
An idea was to reveal places where a merchant Jacob could make his travel
in this city.

A set of illustrations represents the most or more known architectural monuments of Kaunas. The graphic aim was to reveal a sense of Middle Ages, also to make them modern using an ink line drawing combined with the bright color palette. Analysis of objects and combinations of colors — were the biggest experiences in this project. I found the city and its architecture anew, took more attention to its details and a sense it conveys. Each illustration reveals a particular feeling. I have noticed, how colors and light could change the basic line drawing completely. And it is amazing to find out by yourself.
I am thankful very much for Kęstutis Lingys,
who invited me to create this project.
It was a great colorful and useful journey
through the history and architectural art of Kaunas city.
