GIANTS OF THE LAGOON
The Lithuanian language is one of the oldest languages in the world. It is rich not only by its thousands of words, but also by its dialects. The aim of this little picture book is to engage children to know more about the dialect 'sesioniskes', which is still used in the west region of Lithuania. The book is one of the ways to save this dialect from extinction. The story which is written in this unique language is about giants who lived by the lagoon. The main hero is a daughter of the giant who loves to explore and discover everything her father and his friends created: mountains, forests, rivers and seas. And even though giants disappeared, it is believed that they protect people until these days. I am grateful for all the team of the Cultural Center of PriekulE.
